EYEStamp

Sign and fax-stamp prescriptions on your iPad. Share a prescription PDF from your EMR, choose the location, and send it back signed — no printing, no scanning, and nothing leaves the device.

Why EYEStamp

Some EMRs generate prescription PDFs without the prescriber's signature or the clinic's fax number. The workaround — print, sign, write the fax number by hand, scan, re-attach — takes minutes per prescription. EYEStamp does the same thing in three taps, entirely on the iPad, and hands the signed PDF straight back to the EMR so it can be filed and faxed from there.

1Share in. From the EMR's Share sheet, choose EYEStamp.
2Pick the location. Its fax number and your signature appear on the page.
3Share back. The signed PDF goes to the EMR, or to Files.

Quick Start

  1. Add your signature. Sign a plain white sheet with a dark pen, then open Settings (gear) → Scan with Camera…. The paper is made transparent automatically. You can also Draw Signature… on screen, or Import Image… to use a PNG or JPEG you already have.
  2. Add your locations. Settings → Add Location…: a name and the fax number for each clinic you work at.
  3. Stamp a prescription. In the EMR, open the prescription PDF, tap Share, and choose EYEStamp. Pick the location. Drag the signature and the fax number to where they belong — the positions are remembered for every prescription after that.
  4. Send it on. Tap Print… to hand a paper copy to the patient, Share signed PDF… to file it back in the EMR, or Save to Files… for a local copy.

Want to see it before connecting the EMR? The welcome screen's Try with a sample prescription opens a fictitious prescription to practise on.

Getting a prescription into EYEStamp

The stamping screen

How the stamp is applied

EYEStamp re-renders the prescription with your signature and the fax line drawn into the page itself, not as a removable annotation. The text of the original stays crisp and searchable, and every fax system, viewer, and printer shows the stamp exactly as you saw it. The PDF the EMR gave you is never modified.

Settings

SettingWhat it does
SignatureScan with Camera photographs a signature on paper and removes the paper: adjust Sensitivity in the preview if strokes break up (raise it) or paper texture shows (lower it). Draw signs on screen; Import Image uses a PNG/JPEG, offering the same background removal. Remove Signature deletes it.
LocationsAdd, edit, reorder (drag), or delete (swipe) clinics. A ten-digit fax number is shown as (###) ###-####; anything else is stamped exactly as typed.
Stamp onDefault page target for new prescriptions.
Signature widthHow large the signature is drawn, in PDF points (72 per inch).
Text sizePoint size of the fax line.
Fax labelThe text in front of the number — Fax: by default; clear it to stamp the number alone.
Include today's dateAdds the date under the fax number.
Share / Import Location ListSend your clinic list to a colleague, or import theirs. See below.

Shortcuts

EYEStamp provides a Stamp Prescription action for the Shortcuts app. It takes a PDF and an optional location, and returns the stamped PDF, using the signature and positions set in the app — handy for a one-tap Share-sheet shortcut that stamps and sends without opening EYEStamp.

For Colleagues

Each prescriber installs EYEStamp on their own iPad and adds their own signature — signatures are never shared. The clinic list is the same for everyone, so share it once:

  1. On the iPad that has the list: Settings → Share Location List…, then AirDrop, Message, or Mail the file to your colleague.
  2. On the colleague's iPad: save the file, then Settings → Import Location List…. Existing entries are updated by name; nothing is deleted.

The list contains only clinic names and fax numbers.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 September 2026

EYEStamp is an iPad and iPhone app that adds a prescriber's signature and a clinic fax number to prescription PDFs. It is designed so that patient documents pass through the app without being kept, and so that nothing is ever transmitted.

The short version

What the app stores on the device

Your signature and your clinic list (clinic names and fax numbers). When you scan a signature, the camera image is processed on the device and only the resulting signature image is kept; the photo itself is discarded. These are your own professional details, entered by you, kept in the app's private storage on the device, and included in ordinary device backups. They can be removed at any time in Settings, or by deleting the app.

Stamp preferences: page target, positions, and text size.

How prescription PDFs are handled

When you share a prescription into EYEStamp, iOS places a copy in the app's inbox. EYEStamp immediately moves it to private temporary storage and deletes the inbox copy. The stamped version is written to the same temporary storage so the Share sheet and the Files app can hand it on. When you tap Close, open a different prescription, or launch the app, both copies are deleted. Prescription content is never read for any purpose other than drawing the page, never stored elsewhere, and never transmitted.

The Stamp Prescription Shortcuts action processes the PDF in memory and returns the result to Shortcuts; it stores nothing.

Where you send the signed PDF is up to you. Choosing your EMR, Files, AirDrop, Mail, or any other destination in the Share sheet hands the file to that app or service, which then handles it under its own terms.

Sharing a location list

The list you export contains only clinic names and fax numbers — never your signature and never patient information.

What the app never does

Your responsibilities

Signed prescriptions contain patient health information. Handle them according to your professional and legal obligations. EYEStamp's job is to ensure the only copies that exist are the ones you deliberately send or save.
